How It Works

  1. Tell Us Your DatesCall or email us with your travel dates and your dog's needs.
  2. We Match YouWe match you with an available PAWS Pro, and they reach out to go over your dog's routine.
  3. Drop Off & RelaxWeekdays, drop your dog at PAWS by 10 AM. Weekends, your Pro arranges drop-off at their home. Daycare, walks and overnights are handled from there.

How does pet sitting with a PAWS Pro differ from long-term kennels and boarding facilities?
On weekdays your dog spends the day at PAWS daycare — pack walks, socialization and potty breaks — then goes home with a PAWS Pro for the night. Evenings and weekends are spent in the Pro's home, so your dog keeps a familiar routine while you're away.
What makes a PAWS Pro different from a pet sitter on Kijiji, Facebook, or Rover?
PAWS Pros are current or former PAWS staff, trained in dog behaviour and Pet First Aid. They know the PAWS routines, and many already know your dog from daycare.
How are PAWS Pros vetted and trained?
Every PAWS Pro is a current or former member of our daycare staff. They are background checked and trained in dog behaviour and Pet First Aid.
Are PAWS Pros insured and bonded?
Yes. Every PAWS Pro is bonded and covered by PAWS Dog Daycare's business insurance — both inside our facility and when pet sitting in their own homes.
Can PAWS Pros accommodate special needs or medical conditions?
Usually, yes. Tell us about medications, diets and routines when you book so we can match the right Pro. Behavioural cases and special needs may need a paid trial night first and can carry extra charges.
Will my pet be left alone for long periods?
On weekdays your dog spends the day at PAWS daycare — pack walks, potty breaks and socialization. Evenings and weekends they're at the PAWS Pro's home for rest and personal attention.
What is your policy on updates and communication?
Our policy is direct, personal communication — text and picture updates straight from your PAWS Pro, with no middleman. You'll always know exactly what your dog is up to.
What happens if there's an emergency during my pet's stay?
PAWS Pros are backed by a full team. If something happens to your designated Pro, another qualified PAWS Pro steps in seamlessly. For routine care we use Downtown Animal Clinic; for emergencies, Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre on 10th Ave SW.
Can I meet the PAWS Pro before committing?
Yes — it's part of our process. Once we match you with a Pro for your requested dates, they'll reach out directly so you can get acquainted, discuss your dog's needs, and feel completely confident before the stay begins.
Can I request the same PAWS Pro for future stays?
Yes, and we encourage it. Availability isn't always guaranteed, but we do our best to match you with your preferred Pro. If they're unavailable, another equally qualified Pro will provide the same standard of care.
