During the Day

Your dog enjoys the full PAWS dog daycare experience — pack walks through Calgary's parks, supervised pack play, potty breaks, fresh water, and individual attention from the team. It's a normal daycare day, with all the fun and enrichment your dog is used to.

At Night

At the end of the day, a PAWS Pro takes your dog to their home. Your dog sleeps in a real home environment — on a couch, on a dog bed, wherever they're most comfortable. They get personal attention, evening walks, and a quiet night's rest. Your dog sleeps on a couch, not in a crate.

  3. Drop Off & RelaxWeekdays, drop your dog at PAWS by 10 AM. Weekends, your Pro arranges drop-off at their home. Daycare, pack walks and overnights are handled from there.

Dog boarding at PAWS is PAWS Pro pet sitting. On weekdays your dog spends the day at PAWS Dog Daycare enjoying pack walks, supervised play, and socialization. At the end of the day, a PAWS Pro takes your dog to their home for the night, and weekends are spent at the Pro's home. It is available to current PAWS daycare clients whose dog has completed an Intro Day.
How is PAWS boarding different from a kennel?
At PAWS, your dog stays in a real home with a person they already know — not in a cage at a facility. During the day they enjoy the full daycare program (pack walks, supervised pack play, enrichment). At night they sleep comfortably in a PAWS Pro's home. It's the opposite of a traditional kennel.
Who are the PAWS Pros?
PAWS Pros are current or former PAWS Dog Daycare staff members, trained in dog behaviour and Pet First Aid. Every PAWS Pro is background checked, bonded, and insured under our business insurance, whether your dog is at our facility or in their home.
Can I meet the PAWS Pro before my dog's stay?
Yes — it's part of our process. Once we match you with a Pro for your requested dates, they'll reach out directly so you can get acquainted, discuss your dog's needs, and feel completely confident before the stay begins.
Are PAWS Pros insured?
Yes. Every PAWS Pro is comprehensively covered by PAWS Dog Daycare's business insurance — both inside our facility and when boarding in their own homes.
Will my dog be left alone during boarding?
On weekdays your dog is at PAWS daycare with pack walks, supervised play, and potty breaks. Evenings and weekends they're at the PAWS Pro's home for rest and personal attention.
Can I request the same PAWS Pro for future stays?
Yes, and we encourage it. Availability isn't always guaranteed, but we do our best to match you with your preferred Pro. If they're unavailable, another equally qualified Pro will provide the same standard of care.
What happens if there's an emergency during my dog's stay?
PAWS Pros are backed by a full team. If something happens to your designated Pro, another qualified PAWS Pro steps in seamlessly. For routine care we use Downtown Animal Clinic; for emergencies, Western Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Centre on 10th Ave SW.
How much does dog boarding cost in Calgary?

Yes, with careful matching. Because PAWS Pros are current or former daycare staff who already know your dog's temperament from their daycare visits, they're exceptionally well-equipped to handle reactive, anxious, or senior dogs. We'll match your dog with a Pro whose home environment and experience are the right fit. A pre-stay meet and greet is always part of the process, and behavioural cases may need a paid trial night first and can carry extra charges.
